About this Talk
SUPPORT 10EIGHTEEN UGANDA, OUR CHARITY OF CHOICE, AND HELP TEACH 60 GIRLS HOW TO READ AND WRITE - LEARN MORE
Jennings Wright, a former expat and founder of 1018 Uganda, discusses the importance of investing in girls in Uganda's largest slums. With poverty, lack of education, and high rates of teen pregnancy and STDs, Jennings' Skills for Life program offers free literacy, vocational digital education, health and mental-emotional counselling, and a free residential program for teen moms in crisis.
By changing the culture and empowering girls to be self-sufficient and entrepreneurial, the program aims to create a sustainable future for the community.
